Lisandra Di Liberto Torres

Di Liberto Torres, Lisandra

Lisandra Di Liberto Torres is a Puerto Rico-born artist who moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2010, bringing with her a vibrant fusion of cultures that would later inspire My Red Cow with Wings. This signature motif blends the essence of Hatillo, Puerto Rico—the dairy capital of the Caribbean—with the spirit of Shreveport. The cow represents her roots, while its wings symbolize the ability to travel, embrace new cultures, and stay connected with family. The color red, a dominant hue in her work, reflects both the love that brought her to Louisiana and the fiery energy of her adopted home—seen in its spicy food, crawfish, and even the Red River.

Lisandra studied Marketing and Business Administration at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico before furthering her artistic education at the School of Fine Arts in Santana, Puerto Rico. Her work has earned significant recognition, including being named Louisianian of the Year by Louisiana Life Magazine in 2015. She was also selected as one of 13 regional artists featured in the Latino Art Project in Arkansas and, in 2024, was honored by the Northwest Hispanic Association for her outstanding contributions. As a Roster Artist, she continues to create work that bridges cultures and tells the story of identity, movement, and connection.
