Originally from France, Genevieve Tournebize has called Shreveport home for the past 50 years, immersing herself in the richness of its environment. A lifelong artist, she works in oil, acrylics, pastels, colored pencils, graphite, and charcoal, capturing the beauty she sees in portraits of people and animals, floral compositions, landscapes, and other inspired themes.  

Her artistic journey began with a love of doodling and drawing, which continued through moves to Spain and eventually the United States, where her children were born. In the quiet hours after they went to sleep, she found solace in painting, ceramics, and china painting—what she once called her “art therapy.” Now retired, Genevieve dedicates herself fully to her craft, learning and creating more than ever before. For her, art is not just a passion but a daily practice, a way to celebrate beauty in both nature and human connection.
