Don Alexander is a seasoned artist and educator with an extensive background in fine arts. A Louisiana Tech graduate, Don furthered his studies at The Art Center in Los Angeles, The Academy of Art in San Francisco, and the University of Kansas, complemented by numerous workshops in Tucson, Boston, Memphis, and Philadelphia.

With 35 years of university teaching experience at institutions such as Northwestern State University and LSU Shreveport, Don has also led drawing and painting classes in the Shreveport/Bossier area. He has contributed to the community through mural projects commissioned by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council and participated in three ArtPort Exhibits.

Don’s artistic approach is driven by the belief that “Regardless of the design or medium, it is always a challenge not to arrive at a solution too early in the process.”
