Sena H. McWilliams

McWIlliams, Sena

Sena H. McWilliams discovered her passion for drawing as a child and later pursued her dream of becoming a professional artist. In the summer of 1993, with the encouragement of her fiancé (now husband), she began taking lessons with renowned wildlife artist Don Edwards. His guidance, along with trips to zoos and excursions to Estes Park, Colorado, deepened her understanding of wildlife and became a lasting source of inspiration.

Since 2000, McWilliams has been a charter member of the Louisiana Society of Animal Artists. Her work includes two dioramas displayed at the Touchstone Wildlife & Art Museum, as well as paintings exhibited at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. She has also had the honor of instructing art classes at The Glen Retirement System.

Specializing in personal pet portraits, McWilliams also enjoys painting florals, landscapes, portraits, and a wide range of wildlife, including birds. She works primarily in a realistic style, aiming to capture the essence and beauty of her subjects.

“I believe art is God’s gift for one to express through painting what they feel inside and from what they perceive with their eyes.” – Sena H. McWilliams
